The Review: Treat your dog and your home. It is important to first wash your dog thoroughly, hopefully washing away some of the fleas. After your dog is dry, use Perma-Guard Pet and Animal Powder. Perma-Guard is Diatomaceous Earth (all natural, non-toxic), which is a fossilized deposit of microscopic shells created by one celled plants called Diatoms. Perma-Guard’s insecticides kill by physical action, not chemical. First by being abrasive to the insects exoskeleton and absorbing its body fluids, thus posing no harm to warm-blooded life. Only use Pet and Animal approved DE powder, never use Diatomaceous Earth from a pool supply store, several toxic chemicals are added to pool DE that will seriously harm your dog if applied. You only need to apply a tiny amount (1 tsp) to your dogs coat, rub into several locations throughout the coat. DO NOT INHALE! Apply cautiously, not allowing you or your dog to breathe in any of the powder. Next, clean your carpets and pet beds -vacuum, vacuum and vacuum some more. After each time you vacuum, you MUST dispose of the vacuum bag (fleas and ticks can find their way out of the vacuum quickly). Also apply to carpet and dog beds.
I have two dogs, both are very active outdoors running through the grass and also playing with other dogs. We have only had a couple issues with fleas in 9 years and that was before I purchased Perma-Guard. Since using Perma-Guard there hasn’t been a single flea or tick issue. I also discussed the use of Perma-Guard with a professional pest control company and they approved the use of this product for our dogs also. They actually stated that the main ingredients are not only safe, but also some of the ingredients they use in homes with children and pets.
